The Czech Energy Regulatory Office published their annual reports on the operation of the electricity, gas and heating networks in the Czech Republic in 2018. The country’s electricity consumption has been rising steadily for five years, and in 2018 it reached record 73.9 TWh. In 2018, electricity production increased as well, and exceeded 88 TWh. The increase came mainly from nuclear power plants. In comparison to 2017, less electricity was produced by the renewables mainly due to the drought. Last year, the Czech Republic exported 13.9 TWh of electricity.
