Poland has a registered record growth of solar PV installed capacity in 2019, which could reach 1.2 to 1.3 GW by the end of this year, according to the GlobalData analytics company. The solar boom in Poland was triggered by net metering access and the Contract for Difference (CfD) support scheme. Other additional growth stimulants were the Mój Prąd (My Electricity) rebate scheme and the introduction of VAT reduction for micro-PV systems from 23% to 8% in September this year. The My Electricity scheme has a total budget of PLN 1 billion.
