Eurostat, the statistical office of the European Union, has published the latest data about the share of energy from renewable sources in gross final energy consumption. In 2018, the share reached 18.0%, while in 2017 it was 0.5% less. The EU's target is to generate 20% of its energy from renewables by 2020 and at least 32% by 2030. The Czech Republic is among 12 Member States who have already reached their national 2020 binding targets. Other successful countries are Bulgaria, Denmark, Estonia, Greece, Croatia, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, Cyprus, Finland and Sweden.
