U.S. shale firms ramp up natural gas production as higher gas prices are expected in 2021

Gas prices could jump 45 % in 2021, analysts predict. That would be the highest annual average since 2018. On the other hand, the Brent oil price is expected to rise by just 15 %. Helping drive the improved outlook is the expanding U.S. liquefied natural gas (LNG) shipments. In November, LNG exports rose above pre-COVID-19 levels.
