No new LNG project approved in North America this year so far

Demand for liquefied natural gas (LNG) has never been higher, but no new project has been approved in North America so far this year. LNG demand worldwide has increased every year since 2012, but supply has not kept up with demand. Spending on new projects even halted in 2020, as low prices during the coronavirus crisis caused buyers to back away from signing long-term supply contracts.
