The Russian state nuclear power company Rosatom plans to build a fleet of floating nuclear power plants using RITM-200M reactors derived from those installed on the latest icebreakers. Rosatom has signed a framework agreement with TSS Group to create a joint venture whose goal is to build a series of floating power units “with a capacity of at least 100 Mwe and an assigned service life of up to 60 years.” The joint venture wants to focus on countries of the Middle East, Southeast Asia and Africa.
