ABB in Greece has been awarded contracts to supply solar inverters for around 33MW of solar power plants for different projects across Greece. All projects are due to be commissioned in the coming months. ABB will supply 500 and 630kW inverters to several PV power plants, ranging in size from 100kW to 5.9MW. The majority, however are rated approximately 500kW.
In addition to the inverters, ABB will also supply medium voltage transformers and switchgear for “efficient and secure” medium voltage grid connection. The ABB inverter series, rated from 100 to 630 kW, is designed for multi-MW PV power plants as well as large and medium sized installations on commercial and industrial buildings.
With the inverter’s certification as well as advanced and flexible grid support functions, it is possible to meet all applicable network connection requirements, regardless of where the project is located, ABB claims.
