Israel and several EU nations plant to develop a Mediterranean gas project, aiming to deliver natural gas from Israel to Europe through the longest undersea pipeline ever built.
The planned pipeline with a length of about 2,000 kilometres will cost approximately EUR 6 billion, and aims to link gas fields off the coasts of Israel and Cyprus with Greece and possibly Italy. Capital return of the new pipeline is, however, based on the assumption that the currently low gas prices will rise in the future.
