Finnish nuclear power plant starts regular operation

Finland's Olkiluoto 3 nuclear power plant began regular operation on Sunday April 16 after many years of technical issues and delays. Construction of the 1.6 gigawatt (GW) reactor began in 2005. The plant was originally due to start commercial operation in 2009. The plant is operated by Teollisuuden Voima (TVO), which is owned by Finnish utility Fortum and a consortium of energy and industrial companies.
