LMC, the operator of two leading Czech online recruitment portals (www.jobs.cz and www.prace.cz), agreed to be acquired by the Finnish media group Alma Media. LMC informed about it in a press release stating that the acquisition will have no impact on either the 200 employees of LMC or its brands.
The press release also notes that the details of the transaction will not be disclosed. A leading portal about internet in the Czech Republic Lupa.cz, however, writes that the transaction price reached from 880 to 980 million Czech crowns (CZK).
Alma Media reached net sales of EUR 311.4 million at an operating margin of 13.9% in 2010. Its shares are traded on the Helsinki Stock Exchange. According to the information from Lupa.cz, it also owns a 75% stake in Monster Oy that operates a Finnish online recruitment server Monster.fi.LMC was established by Libor Maly in 1996 as one of the oldest Czech internet companies. Since then it has been the leader on the Czech online recruitment market. It expects a year-on-year revenue growth of 25% to more than 400 million CZK in 2011.
