Czech employers no longer have to report job vacancies to the public employment offices. The requirement was abolished by the new Employment Act from 1st January 2012. "This measure is intended to reduce administrative burdens on employers and abolish the obligation whose performance was practically unverifiable and thus unenforceable," states a press release by the Czech Ministry of Labour and Social Affairs.
The current practice is to be replaced by a new system of providing information on vacancies that the Ministry of Labour and Social Affairs prepares in cooperatipn with leading Internet portals and employment agencies. Pilot results, according to the Ministry, show that the system will provide more objective results on the number of vacancies. At the same time, it will meet the European Commission requirements for reporting vacancies for the purposes of Eurostat. The system should be launched by the end of January.
