Tesco, one of the biggest private employers in the Czech Republic, launches restructuring of managerial and specialist positions. Overall, approximately 900 positions will be be abolished or transformed at the company's headquarters and in stores. The company confirmed in a press release that negotiations with trade unions and the Labour Office have begun. Employees will be informed about changes in the coming weeks.

The restructuring will not apply to employees who are in direct contact with customers. On the contrary, its aim is to create new jobs in direct contact with customers. It will therefore have no impact on the total number of employees. The company has already created 520 positions this year and the number should rise to about 930 by the end of the financial year.

"This year, we will create more jobs than the restructuring concerns. These positions wil be offered to our employees affected by the change. Investments in further development and training of our employees including career advancement are important to us. The restructuring will help us focus more on customer service in the highly competitive Czech market, " Karel Foltn, Tesco's HR Director for Central Europe and Turkey commented on the restructuring.
