Before the end of this year, the Czech Ministry of Labour and Social Affairs will announce the call for projects aimed at the establishment and operation of child groups. The subject matter of a new law which regulates the conditions for the establishment of this new type of care facilities for children of preschool age was approved by the Czech Government on 22 August 2012. MLSA wants child groups to facilitate parents' return to work after parental leave and to increase employment especially among women with children under three years of age.

Only a legal person who employs parents of the children who will attend a child group can sumnit the project. If up to four employers agree to cooperate, the group can be run only by one of them and serve children of employees of all the stakeholders. The support is ready for groups with the capacity of 7 to 24 children.

The creation of child groups will be supported by the European Social Fund. The Ministry of Labour and Social Affairs states that it has created a major simplification for the call. "Project implementors will not receive the support based on documented invoices and other accounting documents, but only on the basis of the capacity of the created group and according to how it intensively will be used during the first operational phase," informed the Ministry's spokeswoman Victoria Plívová in a press release.

The support is not intended for Prague child care services and also for those which employers purchase as a  service from external suppliers.

More information and the call itself will be published on www.esfcr.cz by the end of the year.
