Since 13 September 2012, people and organizations from the Czech Republic interested in completing and providing internships may register to the "Internships in Companies - Education by Practice" project. The project was launched by the Further Education Fund (FDV), a state contributory organization of the Ministry of Labour and Social Affairs of the Czech Republic. It is financed by the EU Operational Programme Education for Competitiveness. The aim of the project is to establish a system of continuing education through internships in companies and increase employability of citizens in the labour market.
The project is designed for graduates, the unemployed, people returning to the labour market (eg mothers after maternity leave) and employees who are interested in continuing professional education. They must only have their permanent residence outside the capital city of Prague.
Providers of the internships may be all businesses based in the Czech Republic that are able to provide mentors for the interns and secure the internships in accordance with the so-called internship templates. Internships templates are created for each type of position. They describe the general content of the internships, requirements for both the interns and providers and costs covered by the project.
Information for individuals and companies interested in participating in the project are available on www.stazevefirmach.cz, on Facebook or by consultants on the toll-free info line 800 779 977.
The total budget for the project, which will run from June 2012 to October 2014, is 800 million Czech crowns. Internships will begin to take place in September and they are expected to involve a minimum of 5,000 people. The length of each internship will be 1 to 6 months.
