Low-budget yet popular benefits for employees

The current age, defined by a shortage of workers and low unemployment, is forcing many employers to offer employees new benefits. An employer who does not take care of the well-being of employees risks having top-quality workers leave for a rival company. Not everybody can afford to increase wages. Fortunately, though, there are some less expensive ways of making employment at your workplace more attractive.

More holidays

According to HR Review, employees appreciate having more holidays. Besides increasing the number of vacation days, you might also offer sick days or days when, under certain conditions, staff can work from home.

Fitness

Especially younger people (but also older ones too) are now taking greater care of their health and appearance. Therefore, fitness at the workplace or a fitness pass are highly appreciated benefits.

Free beverages and food

Free snacks and drinks for employees are an ideal way of keeping employees alert and happy, as well as reducing the time they spend leaving the office to buy snacks.

Flexible working hours

People have various duties and will appreciate the possibility at least partially to adjust their work schedule. You might for instance make a rule that employees must work eight and a half hours a day and be at work between 10 a.m. and 3 p.m., but then they can be flexible with the remainder of the time.

Shorter working hours on Friday

The Friday working schedule might be shortened so that employees can leave, for instance, at three o'clock. Especially people with families will welcome this practice.

Training budget

Every employee can have a certain yearly budget for training and education and, after approval from the management, use the budget for courses of their own choice.
