Support of relaxation
According to the HR Director blog, many employees feel they will have problems if their employer sees them relaxing during working hours. But that is wrong: on the contrary, occasional relaxation supports good performance and motivation, so a good working environment should have relaxation zones and places for employees to take short breaks.
Quality food
What kind of food do employees have on offer at the workplace? If they want to buy a snack, do they have to be satisfied with a cookie from a vending machine? Foods rich in sugar do increase a person's energy in the short run but, in the long run, highly concentrated work performance employees need to have access to good quality fresh food.
Hydration
Not only is dehydration unhealthy for people: it also has a negative effect on their energy and work performance. The simplest solution is to provide employees with a water dispenser at the workplace offering fresh filtered water.
Movement
Support sports activities of employees. Organise stretching sessions, arrange a discount price for employees at the local gym and organise sports-related team building events.
Suitable microclimate
The surroundings we work in strongly influence our motivation, mental well-being and energy. Adjust the microclimate and design of your working environment so that employees feel good in it. Focus on the levels of natural light, number of plants and suitable ventilation.
