Study: Only 19% of Czech companies lead by both men and women

67 percent of Czech companies have no women in their statutory bodies. 14 percent of Czech companies, on the contrary, are lead by more women than man. These are results of an analysis executed by CCB - Czech Credit Bureau.

"The significant disparity between men and women in management of companies shows that women still do not have the same conditions for career as men due to the traditional view of their role. Women are still assumed to be at home with children creating family environment. Even though men already have the opportunity to stay at home with children, the situation in Europe or in this country does not show that this trend will prevail in the near future," said Vera Kamenickova, head of analytical department of CCB - Czech Credit Bureau, in a press release published on profit.cz.

Most organizations lead only by women are limited liability companies. 72 percent of limited liability companies are, however, still lead only by men. As far as joint stock companies, the situation is different apparently due to the fact that their statutory bodies are constituted by most members. Only less than a quarter of joint stock companies has purely male statutory bodies.

Most women are represented in the statutory bodies in the textile and clothing industry and transport, logistics and travel agencies (more than 20 percent). 70 percent of companies active in trade and 80 percent of companies operating in the construction industry has, on the contrary, no women in leadership.

In terms of profit, most women are represented in the statutory bodies of smaller companies generating less than 10 million Czech crowns per year in sales.
