How to identify potential leaders

A variety of tools to measure the leadership potential of their people is available for companies today. Common sense, however, often disappears when they are trying to measure the potential as accurately as possible. That is why Forbes.com recalls the basic criteria to tell that someone can be a good leader without the necessity for using any high-tech measuring tool.

1. Natural leadership

A potential leader has a natural ability to inspire and engage the people around him. He can bring positive energy and show perspective in both good and worse times.

2. Enthusiasm for the company

A potential leader shows a long-term passion for the mission and values of his employer. As a consequence of this interest, he pushes the boundaries of the common success.

3. Strong character

A potential leader has strong personal values that match the company's values. He supports the needs of the company by his character.

4. Strong commitment

A potential leader has show you you that you can trust him. He feels a strong commitment to the organization and the people in it. At the same time, he also feels a commitment to himself in the sense that he should  continuously improve.

5. Courage to take risks

A potential leader is not afraid to cross the boundaries of the unknown, to come up with innovations and new opportunities.
