Here are five tips on how to ensure investment in staff training does pay.
Set out the goals of the training
You must know what specific aims the training has. According to Training Zone, it is surprising how much training is going on without the ordering party having any specific goals or measurable aims in mind.
Continuous training
Training often has the form of a one-off event, a solitary random happening with no significant effect. What is more useful is continuous training consisting of smaller sections that are connected to one another and which also give the participants some kind of homework.
Coordination with team leaders
Team managers know quite well what their subordinates need and require. Training and its content must therefore be coordinated in detail with individual managers so that everyone's expectations and demands are met.
Do not require too much
Many training sessions are inefficient as their scope is too wide. A single session cannot effectively cover a large number of topics. Focus only on one or two main, specific goals you want to achieve.
Let people keep their creativity
Excessively directive training sessions that suggest there are certain specific rules to follow and then miracles will happen do not work. Choose training courses that support the creativity of employees, force them to think, respect their uniqueness and make them curious.
