Social changes

We live in an age of considerably turbulent social change, especially regarding the position of women in society and at the workplace. Such movements as MeToo have again opened up the issue of women's rights and changed communication procedures at the workplace. In the HR sector, we might expect next year to bring further changes and adjustments in structures, company culture and communication processes so that they correspond to these new trends.

Collaborative work

The rapidly changing age, technological development and fragmentation of information are leading to a situation in which only rarely these days can one single person cover an entire sector with their knowledge and skills. We now see the onset of collaborative work and the need to work in teams. Next year, we will see more interconnecting of departments and more collective work on shared projects.

Big and small data

With the development of modern technologies, affordable CRM systems and database systems, anyone can quite easily analyse large amounts of data on employees. The use of analytical tools and technologies using small and big data within HR will thus continue.

Talent management

Retaining current employees will be crucial in 2019. Furthermore, the skills required to perform duties in certain positions are becoming increasingly specific, so the system of training new employees and their subsequent education must be perfected. Thus in the years to come HR managers will be seeking new ways to retain employees through professional and personal development at the workplace.
