Choose the right video format for your performance; a "talking head" is not always the only option you can use to engage an audience.

As viewers' attention spans decrease every day, video excels at limiting complex, boring, or abstract concepts to easily digestible sections of information; moreover, it conveys them in an interesting, inspiring and entertaining way.

One of the best things about video content is how versatile and flexible it is. However, depending on the topic you want to address and your target audience, some types will be better than others.

Live video

These are excellent for adding a "human touch" to the experience of your event, making it easier for the audience to gain trust. The most common live videos include:

1. Talking head

We are naturally attracted to other people's faces because they show emotions and expressions that are familiar to us. A talking head or conversation-like video can be engaging and, above all, compelling - doubly so if it involves an expert on a given topic or an authority in your organisation.

So you can use them to pass on best practices for communicating with customers or for employees to share work experiences with one another.

2. Screen videos

These videos are based on a computer screen recording and usually contain narrators. They are relatively easy to create, clear and illustrative. They might be used to help people go through all the steps necessary to complete a process.

For example, you can implement these videos into the onboarding process to teach new employees to manage internal systems, and more.

Example

Demonstration video

When it comes to employee training, one of the most important things you should learn is how your product or service actually works - even more so if it involves complex functions or procedures.

A video with a demonstration of a product or service can help give employees a detailed view of your product in action; this is especially useful for sales teams and customer support. With this type of training, you ensure they can effectively communicate the value of the product to potential customers or quickly resolve clients' most common concerns.
