Even managers are just fallible people. Making mistakes is, however, one thing and liyng to onself is another one. If we lie to ourselves not to feel uncomfortable and to strengthen our fragile egos, we do not harm only ourselves but the whole company. CBS News warns about when managers most often lie to themselves.

  1. I know what customers want.

  2. We have the best technology, services, etc., etc.

  3. It will fix itself.

  4. Customers love us.

  5. Employees love me.

  6. Out of sight, out of mind.

  7. I am doing it for their own good.

  8. The end justifies the means.

  9. I know what my superiors want.

  10. It is my company.
