Do you suffer from nomophobia?

More and more people suffer from nomophobia - the fear of being out of mobile phone contact. It is at least the finding of a recent study for a British company SecurEnvoy which examined 1,000 Britons. 66% of respondents fear being without mobile phone contact. That is 13% more than a similar study showed four years ago, Digital Trends informed.

41% of respondents carry two mobile phones to make sure that they are constantly accessible. When asked whether they feel anxiety when without their mobile phones,  70% of women and 61% of men responded positively. More men, however, carry two cell phones. As for age, the greatest fear of being inaccessible by the mobile phone is experienced by young people aged 18 to 24 years.

Nomophobia (from the English "no mobile phobia") is manifested by owners of mobile phones who immediately fall under great level of stress when losing the cell phone, turning it off or running out of battery. They immediately become anxious that they cannot be in contact with their family, friends or professional contacts. Given the growing dependence of all of us on mobile devices, it is expected that this type of anxiety will become an increasingly common mental health problem.
