Women in the Czech Republic earn 24% less than men. The pay gap exists from the moment they enter the labor market. The differences are increasing gradually and they are most prevalent from the thirties. The smallest income differences between the sexes were found after 55 years. These are results from an online survey by Platy.cz, a Czech portal comparing salaries on the Czech labour market.
The average monthly salary including all rewards for Czech men is 27,942 Czech crowns. Women earn an average of 21,302 CZK a month.
The most striking difference between the salary of men and women was found in the positions of Operations Managers (- 29%), bartenders (- 24%) and Production Managers (- 23%). Women also earn significantly less than men in the positions of Account Managers, department managers and bakers.
As far as the positions when women earn more than men, the differences are less than five percent. Women earn more than men in the positions of logisticians (+4 %), editors (+3 %), occupational health and safety technicians (+3 %) or PR managers (1 %).
