Where are you wasting your time?

There are many ways we are wasting our valuable time without even realizing it. That is why Entrepreneur.com highlighted seven cases of inefficient time management people working in management positions should give special attention to.

1. Administrative overload

Delegate administrative tasks that you do not like and you are even not good at. Invest your time in what you can do well. You have surly heard this many times, but are you actually doing it?

2. Postponing quick tasks

Solve the tasks that you can complete in a few minutes immediately. This applies for example to e-mails or arranging meetings.

3. Too much control over employees

Consider whether your subordinates really need to be checked at every step. If they need it  over a long period and your hope for improvement is slim, rather let them go.

4. Excessive focus on everyday problems

Be careful not to deal with just the problems that arise every day. Your task is to address strategic thinking and long-term plans.

5. No strategy for social media

Limitation of the time you spend on social networks will definitely improve your productivity. If you want to devote a part of your working time to this activity, do it systematically and with the specific objectives (for example to promote your company).

6. Inability to leave failed products

Adhering to the products and projects that have already failed in the past is a big waste of time. Try to look at things objectively and do not try to reinvent the wheel.

7. Repeating the same activities

Tasks that you do over and over again in the same form should be automated as much as possible. For example, when answering the same questions, there is nothing easier than to write your answers and put them on a visible place. This is true for communication with both customers and employees.
