Most managers spend at least a part of their working days working on a project or projects. How shoud they maintain productivity and achieve effective results? First of all, do not start anything about what you do not know what and why you should achieve. Clarify the objectives of your projects and their connection to your corporate goals. The Project Times website then recommends:

Make sure that you are working with the right people

Are there people who can really help you in your project team? Are not the best of them too overwhelmed with less priority tasks?

Ensure proper launch of your project

Starting a project without clear goals and roles and without clear communication to engage your people in the project is a waste of time.

Do not waste time developing complex project plans

Bet on simplicity in the form of a clear definition of the key challenges to be met and the resources you will require. Clarify a basic schedule and everything else will come.

Start as soon as possible and quickly remove obstacles

Do not let yourself get stuck by seemingly insurmountable obstacles. Once you start solving problems, you will see that you can handle the obstacles.

Measure your progress

Watch how you manage to follow the schedule and come up with suggestions on how to possibly speed up the work on your project. Work with the critical steps above you. Publicize your progress.

Solve both successes and problems immediately

Support your people by providing feedback and ensuring the necessary resources. On the other hand, require personal responsibility, too. Potential problems solve immediately as soon as you can see some warning signs. Celebrate individual achievements immediately, too.
