How to make your LinkedIn profile stand out

What distinguishes successful profiles on LinkedIn from the others? Naturally, the first issue is optimization. But competition is large, so having a complete, well-worked profile is not enough. The key is the same as on other social media - engaging. How to do it?

1. Updates

Users who at least once a week share content within their networks on LinkedIn, have up to ten times greater chance of being contacted with a career offer. You can publish articles, blogs or share interesting material that you have read. The only thing that is important is the quality. But be careful - too frequent publishing is not recommended.

2. Planning

Due to the existence of LinkedIn applications on smart phones and iPads, noone can say that they are too busy to work on their network. If this was just your problem, make a schedule and follow it. You can try, for example, enter your updates while having your morning coffee. Simply schedule a time and then follow it.

3. A good quality profile photo

People dress for the job. Thus, prepare accordingly. Investing in professional photos can pay back many times.

Generally speaking, profiles with photos are seven times more popular compared to those without pictures.

4. LinkedIn is not Facebook

Nobody on LinkedIn cares to hear that you broke up, or you have a bad mood due to the bad weather. Maintain professionalism and speak to current issues. Follow the 10 companies for which you would like to work once, but remember also the one where you work now. Share interesting content and wait - the results will come.
