Brian Tracy: How to be more popular

Do you want to be more popular at work and in your private life? Then focus on one of the basic human needs - the need to feel important. That is at least recommended by the world-famous speaker and consultant Brian Tracy. When you help others feel important and appreciated, they will like you more and become more open to you. It works both in the relationships with your loved ones and business partners or customers. On his blog, Tracy described five basic techniques to follow.

1. Positive approach

Nobody wants to be criticized or judged in advance. Show your unconditional approach simply - by smiling. A sincere smile helps people feel important and opens the way to communicate with each other.

2. Thanks

Everybody wants to hear appreciation for what he or she does. Say "thank you" more often and you will see that you will raise self-esteem of the people around you. They will be more willing to help you, too.

3. Praise

Everybody likes to hear praise. Be attentive and compliment other people on their clothes, hairstyles, cars or office settings. A person who can compliment is always more popular.

4. Recognition

Show the people around your recognition for both large and small successes. Tell them that they are good. Try it with your children as well as at work.

5. Full attention

When you talk to people, listen to them fully. Listening shows your respect and interest and people will respect you in return for that.
