What to do on Sunday evening - let the successful inspire you

There are not many people who would look forward to Sunday evening. A survey carried out by Monster.com in 2013 found out that more than 75% of respondents experience rueful feelings on this evening. There is a considerable amount of melancholy and resentment at the thought of the working week to come in less than 12 hours … so let’s take a look at how successful people overcome their thoughts about Monday‘s stresses. According to Jacquelyn Smith’s article (based on a book by Laura Vanderkam titled What The Most Successful People Do On The Weekend), they:

1. Plan something enjoyable

They set up plans for something pleasant, which makes them look forward to that plan rather than feel blue about the following morning.

2. Get involved in physical activities

They play tennis or go to the gym; they exercise in order to beat the Sunday gloominess.

3. Spend time with family and others who are important to you

The successful are aware of the fact that the week is going to be busy, so they spend this free evening with their loved ones and friends.

4. Read the books they did not have time for during the week...

... although in fact a majority of them read on a daily basis, so Sunday is no exception. And if it is not with a good book, they relax otherwise: a good sleep and a tasty, healthy meal are important parts of Sunday evening and night.

5. Do some volunteer work

Because helping less fortunate people is a great way to forget about your own stresses. Good deeds are refreshing.

6. Follow up on their commitments

Sunday is a perfect day for keeping your promises and other commitments – such as sending a response to an email that has been repeatedly postponed.

7. Stay positive

Tomorrow is Monday, no matter whether you feel happy or sad. So what is the point of feeling down? Keep smiling: that is the best way to prepare yourself for the week to come!
