It is very easy to be so busy with activities while climbing the ladder of success and not noticing that it is against the wrong wall. There is a constant danger that we focus too much on doing and implementing things instead of thinking about the end results. We need to realize that perhaps the final outcomes of many of our activities aren’t those we actually desire.

Short term, or long term? There must be balance

When we are rushed, it is probable that we are not producing our best work. We are also more prone to making mistakes, that can have a negative impact. We may also completely give up and become unable to focus  on the bigger picture and longer term goals. Our short term objectives and current goals can blind us so we are unable to strike the right balance between thinking both short and long term.

Forget about your to-do list

Many workers have their to-do lists and they focus on working through it. However, you should revise and identify your real priorities. Choose at least three and focus on them. When you are thinking about the key areas, you are not wasting time. In fact, a little bit of thinking can save you a lot of time and effort you would otherwise devote to something that is not really important. 1. Everything that happens to you in business is your responsibility. Plan and think about where you want to be 3 years from now.

2. The act of planning and thinking is more important than the actual plan.
