Generally speaking, these can sometimes be merely irritating habits. If, however, such issues begin to threaten productivity and worsen the working environment, it is time to have a talk with the culprit.
1. Too much perfume or aftershave
This is a common breach of office etiquette. Sometimes there is simply way too much scent. Of course, this is a rather subjective matter since some people are more sensitive to smells than others. In most cases there is nothing too serious about this issue; only if a colleague is allergic to such odours does it become a genuine problem. Otherwise every smell will eventually dissipate.
2. Swearing and offensive language
Swearing and cursing has no place in company culture. Vulgar words should never be heard at work. Managers should not use bad language; nor should they tolerate others using it.
3. Some people are too loud talkers
Some people are pleasant and professional but they talk too loud when they are on the phone. It is even worse if these calls are not even related to work. However, even when two employees are discussing work-related topics, it can be distracting and annoying - especially if it happens repeatedly and at length.
4. Body odour and bad breath
These problems are fortunately not so frequent but when they do appear, it is a tricky situation. It is not easy to start talking about such issues. Once again, it is subjective but the manager should at least try to point out the problem. The employee in question may not even be aware of the situation, which it would be better for them to know about since it may be linked to a medical condition.
