The largest Czech companies in Central Europe

A total of 74 Czech companies ranked in the CE Top 500 ranking by revenue in Central and Southeastern Europe and Ukraine, compiled for the tenth time by Deloitte. Revenues for sales of the 500 largest CE companies reached more than € 685 billion for 2015, which is approximately the same as the previous year. Let's take a look at the Czech companies.

Illustration

Annual revenues of the Czech companies decreased slightly by 1.9% to € 110.5 billion. Skoda Auto is the most successful company in the Czech Republic for the sixth consecutive year. The car manufacturer ranked in third overall place, the same as in the 2015 ranking. The top twenty largest CE companies include four more Czech companies: ČEZ (7th place), Agrofert (12th place), RWE Supply & Trading CZ (16th place) and Foxconn CZ (20th place).

Companies from the energy, automotive and IT sectors achieved the best results. For the first time, a Czech online store, Alza.cz, entered the ranking in 435th place.

Key findings of the CE Top 500 study

  • The most successful country is Poland, with 182 companies, followed by the Czech Republic (74) and Hungary (67).

  • A Czech company was ranked as first in two sectors, namely manufacturing (Skoda Auto - overall 3rd place in the CE Top 500) and technology (Foxconn CZ - overall 20th position).

  • The first five places are occupied by the same companies as in 2014, even despite a decline in sales for two of them: 1. PKN Orlen (-17.2%), 2. MOL (-15.6%), 3. Skoda Auto ( +6.3%), 4. Jeronimo Martins Polska, 5. PGNiG.

  • In the banking sector, Česká spořitelna moved from 5th place last year to third and ČSOB from 7th place last year to 4th.
