Some of us are skilful photographers; others have a passion for dogs, cats or horses. Among us there are people interested in wines or various cuisines. Or people who enjoy travelling widely. Or people who act in the theatre.
We all have our own special talents and abilities. Some of us can smile and light up a room, others can paint or draw. There are guitar players among us as well as aircraft pilots.
Find the aces in your pack

We often tend to take our aces for granted as we ourselves see nothing special in them. But think about how you can use your special abilities to demonstrate different ideas. Using wine tasting or sharing a story from the theatre during a presentation can make getting the point across easier. Furthermore, it will enliven the presentation and arouse the interest of your audience.
So start using your aces. Begin by writing out a list of your unique talents or interests:
- Have you ever set out to conquer giant mountains?
- Are you a vegetarian?
- Did you grow up with a father who had an unusual job or profession?
- Do you regularly run marathons?
Think about how you spend your free time: what is your passion? Bring that passion to the stage and use it in your next presentation. It doesn’t matter if it isn’t directly related to the topic: you can still use your ace to make the presentation much more authentic. So share stories and use examples from real life.
