Understanding and tolerance

Too many managers do not like seeing differences in their team. But diversity and differences in individual talent play a key role in the ability of a team to handle new and unexpected challenges.

Willingness to back team members

Even though a manager represents higher management and primarily protects the company's interests, they must also be able to stand up for their subordinates and negotiate the best possible conditions for them. Only then will they be able to gain the trust and loyalty of their team.

Having principles and leading by example

According to the Center for Creative Leadership, it is impossible to be a good and inspirational leader if you preach water but drink wine. Follow all the principles you are trying to implement: if you want anything from your team members, you first need to serve as a role model.

Sense of justice

Employees are highly sensitive to injustice. Be fair to team members, use the same benchmark for all of them and appreciate good work appropriately.

Being a visionary

Nothing supports team motivation more than a common vision that helps to guide individual workers in their everyday tasks. So you should offer the team a vision or a common goal they can aim at together.
