Set priorities
First of all, you must have your priorities defined. You will not manage to finish everything; therefore, you must determine your primary focus.
Plan every day
Prepare a detailed schedule and plan of activities for each day and then strictly adhere to this plan.
Turn off your phone
When you are meant to work on a certain task, turn off your phone, do not answer e-mails and eliminate all distractions, such as the TV.
Spend only a pre-determined time period on each task
You must not spend more time than originally intended on individual tasks. If you are unable to finish a task, move it to the next day and continue with your daily plan.
Make communication easier
Look at the internal processes and communication channels in your team and find out whether there are any unnecessary delays that serve as distractions.
Delegate tasks
One of the common factors that add to procrastination, especially in the case of managers, is being overwhelmed with tasks. Learn how to delegate work and pass it on to colleagues or subordinate employees.
Work on the difficult tasks first
You could end your tendency to postpone difficult tasks until later if you start working on the most difficult tasks first thing every day.
