You will certainly have noticed that although you immensely enjoy some people's speeches, with others you would rather leave right at the very beginning. Nor does this have anything to do with the topic: some speakers can talk in an engaging way about the anatomy of insects, while others are unable to impress an audience even with an engaging topic which is relevant to everyone present. How is this possible? What does a speaker need in order to captivate an audience?
