How to survive in the workplace in 2020

What skills are needed for success in the workplace in 2020? That is the question posed by researchers from the University of Phoenix. In a study entitled Future Work Skills 2020 they derermined the following ten skills.

  1. Ability to understand the deeper meaning of events and  decide accordingly,

  2. social intelligence,

  3. ability to come up with new ideas and solutions,

  4. ability to work with people across cultures,

  5. ability to handle large amounts of information and recognize the most important ones,

  6. ability to understand and work with new media,

  7. ability to understand other roles in the organization,

  8. design thinking and understanding of work processes for maximum efficiency,

  9. ability to set out priorities,

  10. ability of virtual collaboration.
