Public presentations are a potentialy strong way to promote your organization, your work or yourself. How to prevent that you fail as the speaker and instead of attracting only annoy your audience by your presentation? Read the following ten mistakes you should not make.

1. Lack of rapport

Your speech should interest the audience in terms of both content and form. Smile and start on time.

2. Lack of authenticity

Prepare and practice your speech, but still be yourself.

3. Lack of silence

Do not try to speak without interruption. Important points can be emphasized by a moment of silence.

4. Lack of facial expressions

The human face has 80 muscles that can create thousands of facial gestures. Involve your face and you will get more attention.

5. Lack of eye contact

Do not turn back to the audience. Look them in the eye.

6. Lack of clarity

Do not overload your audience with too technical details or incomprehensible acronyms. make your message as easy as possible.

7. Lack of humor

You do not have to be a comedian for your presentation to be fun. If you are not good in telling jokes, do not tell them. Rather use a funny picture or video.

8. Lack of direction

Your presentation should have an introduction, a middle part and a conclusion so that the audience can focus on your performance.

9. Lack of energy

You can deliver more energy to your presentation using your voice and the pace of your speech, but also through gestures.

10. Lack of sense for language 

If you want your public presentations to really helpe you find new clients or motivate your team, you should invest in the development of your rhetorical skills.
