What do larks manage before noon?

If you are early risers, you live a happier and healthier life than your colleagues who are night owls, at least according to a recent study published in the journal of the American Psychological Association. What do successful larks manage before noon? And can you manage it too?

  1. The prepare their list of tasks for the next day the night before.

  2. They sleep eight hours a day (or as much as they need for sufficient rest).

  3. They get up on the first ring of their alarm clock.

  4. They exercise.

  5. They have a morning ritual (meditation, reading newspapers, surfing the Internet or anything else when they can be alone and without distractions).

  6. They eat nutritious food for breakfast.

  7. They come to the office on time.

  8. They discuss the progress of their tasks with their superiors and colleagues.

  9. The do the hardest task first.

  10. If they can decide on it, they do not hold morning meetings.

  11. They set aside a specific time to address e-mails to avoid having to constantly check their mail box.

  12. They take a midday break.
