The end of the year traditionally brings an increased level of stress. At work we are trying to complete as many last minute tasks as possible, while we are also preparing for the holidays. After the hustle at work ends, we go shopping, cook, watch over children, visit our friends ... If you want to successfully end your year and really enjoy it in peace with your loved ones, get inspired by the following recommendations from Inc.com on how to handle the pre-Christmas stress.
1. Do not accept every invitation
You do not have to attend all the Christmas parties and business lunches you are invited to. Also save most negotiations on new projects for January.
2. Carefully organize your work
If your organizational skills are not the strongest, pay special attention to organization at the end of the year. If you accept so many tasks and meetings that they overlap in your calendar, you can't avoid feeling more stress.
3. Remember the message of Christmas
Christmas should be a peaceful and enjoyable time spent with family and loved ones. However, do not forget about your colleagues and subordinates at work. Everybody will appreciate a more quiet and relaxed atmosphere.
4. Do something for others
Stop thinking only in numbers. Use your heart as well as your head. Customers, employees and other people around you would be happy to see that you also have a heart. Be empathetic and try to put yourself in others shoes. Ask what you can do for them.
5. Do something for yourself
Stop feeling regret for what you have or have not done in the past year. You can't change it. All you can do is to change your approach. Instead of regrets, focus on the lessons you can learn and apply in the new year.
