In the first article, Brian Tracy, a famous speaker, advised us on how to start a career in public speaking. He published his tips on his website briantracy.com. Now let’s focus on what you should speak about and how you can improve your skills.

1) When you talk about your speech, focus on the outcome

When you are explaining what your speech is about, talk in terms of the transformation or change that will occur when people listen to you. Focus on the positive outcome. Don’t talk about the material, talk about the outcome. At the beginning, you should specialize on a single subject. When you are asked about it, focus on the positive transformation that your speech brings about.

2) What is the problem you are solving?

Even a motivational speech is intended to help the listeners. You motivate them, you help them focus, you want to get them to discover their hidden talents, energies and abilities.

3) Be humble and grateful

There are people in your audience who could break open your career. Be grateful and be humble. Even Brian Tracy was lucky enough that once, when he was delivering a speech that didn't pay very well, there was a man in the audience who later helped him get many well paid speeches for IBM.

4) Deliver 300 speeches as fast as you can

You must be determined to give these 300 talks. There are many meetings of non-profit associations, professional associations, and automobile clubs, Also, there are Toastmasters clubs for people who want to improve their presentation skills. These are all opportunities for you to hone your speaking skills. Go for it.
