Imagine, for example, that you want to lose weight. You start climbing stairs every day. However, if you keep on having your lunch at a fast food restaurant, you probably won't lose weight. Instead, focus on getting rid of your bad habits. In the field of leadershipo, these usually include the following.

1. Don't see only the broader perspective

Every leader must have a long-term vision and lead others to achieve it. This means not only talking about the future, but also setting out the milestones, planning how to achieve them, and rewarding small successes on the way.

2. Stop avoiding delegation

Leaders believe in their teams and the abilities of each individual. They are not afraid to delegate tasks according to the interests and skills of their people. They don't prevent their people from working on other tasks voluntarily either.

3. Don't recognize only big wins

Behind every big success, there is a series of small successes you should recognize. Saying thank you makes a lot, so thank your people more frequently.

4. Get rid of your bad communication habits

Stop writing lengthy emails and start talking personally with your people more. Stop hiding information. Make it clear that you have your door open for anyone who wants to talk with you.

5. Stop thinking you are better than others

And stop showing it. Show your people you want to get to know them better so that you can work better together. Encourage an atmosphere of friendship and teamwork.

6. Stop hindering innovation

Tell your people clearly what projects they can work on to fully develop their creativity to come up with new solutions. Expect occasional errors and failures.
