Early mornings: Use them to beat procrastination

Take advantage of early mornings. It is your own time which is free of demands. Like Ma Yun, a Chinese boy, who decided to use early mornings to improve his English. He woke each day before dawn and cycled 40 minutes to the main hotel in Hangzhou. He wasn’t paid and no one suggested it to him. This man created his own opportunities. Each day he would read English in front of the hotel. He would then give foreign visitors from the USA and Europe free tours around the lake. And as a result he learned English from them.

This enabled him, after three failed attempts, to enter the local university and obtain a degree in English. Later, this young entrepreneur became Jack Ma, billionaire founder of Alibaba.com.

People can use early mornings to get ahead of the demands of the day. You are maybe not especially fond of early mornings but you could start to appreciate how they can help you achieve your goals, according to the management-issues.com website.

Michael Phelps also used mornings. At the pool, his coach (who really enjoyed getting up before dawn) would be waiting for him every day.

Benefits of early mornings: you beat procrastination

Early mornings will help you not to fall into procrastination that leads to negative stress and insomnia. Why?

- Delaying what you must finish can be very distressing. You worry about what you have not done yet - and also about the consequences of not having done it. You feel weaker.

- Putting off what you need to do can make it impossible for you to do what you truly love. And you start feeling further removed from your dreams. You don’t have the time to move forward.
