When you lose your fears, they'll no longer affect your decisions and your behavior. You'll be free to take action and your confidence and sense of control will be restored.

By changing your attitude from negative to positive, you will become more effective in both your work and personal life.

Step 1: Define your problem in writing and find out what the worst possible outcome could be

Write down the root of your worries – describe the situation you are afraid of clearly. Write down a list of what exactly you're worrying about. Half of our problems can be solved as we define them. Now, what's the worst possible outcome?

Write down the worst possible outcome of the situation that makes you worried. What's absolutely the worst result that could come true?

It's probably losing something: you might be worried about your health or reputation. Just write it down. When you allow yourself to face the worst possible outcome, most of the anxiety you feel will disappear.

Step 2: Accept the worst possible outcome

Think about what you would do should the worst-case scenario occur. How would you live with it? When you resolve to accept the worst, you suddenly have nothing to worry about. The denial and refusal to face the future are gone.

Next, you should do what you can to prevent the worst outcome from happening. You have a clear head now.
