The Škoda Auto company, with 60.7%, retained the largest share in the total Czech production of passenger cars, followed by Hyundai (25.2%) and TPCA (14.1%). Production increased year-on-year by 5.2%, i.e. by 69,699 units. Exports of passenger cars grew by 5.1% y / y (62,430 units) and domestic sales also improved by 6.8% (7,031 units).
From January to December 2017, a total of 243 more buses were produced than in 2016. Iveco Czech Republic produced the largest share (88.6%) (4,102 units). SOR Libchavy (10.2%) produced 472 buses. While Iveco, in addition to exports, boosted its domestic sales by 42%, SOR increased its exports by 28%.
The domestic manufacturer, Tatra Trucks, increased production by 155 units compared to the previous year. Deliveries for the domestic market increased by 12.4% (48 units), exports fell slightly (-2.4%).
The only Czech manufacturer of motorcycles, Jawa, produced 103 motorcycles more than in 2016. Domestic sales increased by 120.3% to 174 units, reaching a level of 1,157 units (+0.7%).
The production of trailers and semi-trailers grew by 529 units compared to 2016. Domestic sales increased overall by 2.5%, exports slightly decreased by 1.1%. Schwarzmüller (77.4%) retained the largest share of the overall production of large trailers and semi-trailers, over Panav (22.6%). The production of small trailers is dominated by Agados.
After counting in the production of trailers, the total number of road vehicles produced in the Czech Republic reached a record number of 1,446,543 in 2017, a year-on-year increase of 5.2%.
