Specific words of praise
According to the Selling Power website, praise from a manager is an unbelievably efficient motivational tool that many team leaders underestimate. The praise must be honest and specific. If an employee manages to resolve a situation well, take time to explain to them what you liked about their attitude, which specific steps were appropriate and in what specific ways they deserve praise.
Public praise
Another strong motivational tool is praising an individual in front of other employees. Not only does this praise motivate the employee to work better in the future, but it also supports other coworkers because everyone wants to be pointed out as a capable and unique individual in front of others.
Fun games
Simple games stir up the natural competitiveness in employees and are surprisingly effective in motivating workers. These might be a game when the winners get valuable prizes or it could just be symbolic. In order for the game to be a truly motivational tool, everybody (no exceptions) must take part in it, it must have strict rules and a defined duration time.
