Three things that a team manager should delegate

There are leaders who like to do everything on their own, they don't trust anybody and they let others only do mundane tasks without supporting their creativity in any way. And then there are managers who delegate virtually everything to their subordinates while doing almost nothing so eventually they don't have any insight into ongoing projects and everyday problems. The ideal is, of course somewhere in between.

Here are three things that should be delegated by every manager.

Tasks that fall under an employee's expertise

According to Entrepreneur.com, many managers have a problem admitting there are fields that an employee excels in more than themselves. But it's only natural as the current age is so complex that being an expert in everything is impossible. And not only that, a leader incapable of admitting this shows uncertainty and lack of self-confidence in his position.

You must make use of your employees' potential, their creativity and initiative, and give them special projects to do that you will only partially supervise.

IT issues

If you don't work for an IT company, it's good to let experts handle the issues relating computer technology. You can direct the projects, step in and keep updated on them, but trying to come up with your own initiatives in this field without having the proper knowledge isn't advisable. There are currently so many options that knowing them all requires a true expert.

Issues related to everyday operation and employee complaints

No matter what the policy of your company is towards employee satisfaction surveys, there will always be things that your employees just won't tell you. There are many reasons for that. So if you're thinking about changing working conditions, about new benefits, about changes in the routine tasks and systems and so on, don't try to handle everything alone. Delegate the task to an employee that you trust and co-operate with him or her on the project.
