Keep it short

According to the BusinessKnowHow website, morning meetings must be brief and to the point, lasting no more than about 15 minutes, even if not everything on the agenda has been covered. The main aim of such morning meetings is to motivate employees for the day ahead, not tire them out in advance.

Do not forget to praise

Many managers deal only with problems. There is nothing wrong with mentioning problems but this needs to be equally balanced with praise of individual employees. Motivate them in a positive way and remember that a kind word from a superior can work wonders.

Invite only relevant attendees

For many people, meetings are often useless because the topics covered do not concern them in any way. Invite only relevant people to morning meetings, namely people whom the meeting genuinely concerns.

Pay attention to what employees say

Morning meetings should not just be a purely mentoring monologue, but rather an interactive brainstorming within which individual people can say whatever they want. The team leader should listen to staff initiatives as they might have interesting insights into various problems.
