Create places where workers can meet
As Talent Management points out, if you do not give your workers a place where they can meet, you can hardly expect any socialising to take place. Colleagues do not just suddenly become friends in the hallway. So the first step is to create an environment where people can meet or take a break and talk to one another.
Organise team-building activities
Another way to increase socialisation among workers is to organise team-building activities. These can be short events lasting just one afternoon or evening, or they can be longer outings over several days. How might such activities look? The imagination knows no limits, from escape games, through canoe trips, to volunteer work.
Create team and company rituals
Rituals are an excellent way to create a corporate identity, foster team spirit and provide a distinct face to your company culture. For example, one ritual might be a once-a-month all-staff meeting, complete with awards for the best projects or the biggest helper chosen by colleagues.
Projects involving multiple teams
Even within the work agenda it is possible to create situations where workers who would otherwise not meet much have to work together, thus creating new bonds. Organise projects that involve multiple teams and put people in charge who otherwise seldom work together.
