Whether it's a PR agency, advertising agency or any consulting firm, a good relationship with the client comes first. Clients tend to be very demanding, with diversed opinions and limitations, which in turn affect the service provider.
PR Daily recommends five tips on how to achieve good communication between an agency and a client:
- Regular meetings must involve more than just updating the list of tasks and needs. The agency should tell the client what they achieved in the past period, and come up with a few new proposals.
- Plan a brainstorming session with the client. It helps to build your relationship and to better understand client's needs.
- Get to know your client professionally as well as at a personal level. Even more so if it's a new client.
- Regular meetings should not be your only contact. In this regard, use your phone for the task.
- Do not forget your own PR. Do not boast quite everything you achieved, but keep a bilateral communication. Reinforce your credibility of an expert in your field.
